Heliconia Amazon River Lodge is a true Ecolodge located on the banks of the Amazon River (left bank) in the Community of Yanamono, 80 km (50 miles) from Iquitos, Peru. Ideal for those who want to experience real adventure in the Amazon. The facilities are rustic.
The trip to the Lodge we take 1 hour and 15 minutes along the Amazon River and we do it in fast speed boats.
Named after the spectacular Heliconia flower species highly valued in the world for their brilliant colors and exotic shapes.
The entire lodge is built of wood using typical material of the region, the ceilings are made with palm leaves.
Areas of Heliconia Lodge: 21 spacious rooms, double and triple rooms with private bathroom and hot water. Only the bathrooms are constructed entirely of concrete covered with corrugated iron. The common areas and rooms have electric lighting at certain times of day. At 10 pm the lodge is lit by kerosene lamps.
Pink dolphin, boat excursion on the Amazon River, fishing, visits to native communities.
Heliconia Amazon River Lodge is recognized by the National Wildlife Federation to meet the requirements of the Backyard Wildlife Awards.
