ITINERARY

DAY 01: Lima / Iquitos / Cumaceba Lodge
Reception at Iquitos airport, short city tour. Transfer to our private harbor to take our speed boat to visit the floating thatch roof houses in the district of "Belen", located on the edge of the Itaya river,(From November to July) continue traveling down the Amazon River we arrive at the ecological reserve "Cumaceba Lodge". The reception will be with a welcome drink made of a typical fruit, accommodation in the bungalows with private bathrooms, typical lunch, a long walk in the primary forest to know and learn about medicinal plants and the wild life of the reserve. Depending on the weather conditions, we may see the sun set. At night a jungle walk excursion, to hear the sound of the rain forest animals and to find several nocturnal insects and frogs. Dinner and over night in Cumaceba Lodge.

DAY 2: Cumaceba Lodge - Yaguas - Recreational Fishing
An early morning jungle walks for bird watching to see the legendary Hoatzin-Shansho. After breakfast we will visit the "Yagua" Native Village, to see their typical clothing and hear their own dialect, see how they use the blowgun, typical dances, also we can buy or trade their handy craft. Return to the lodge, typical lunch self service. Piranha fishing and other species as well, nocturnal trekking. Dinner.

DAY 3: Cumaceba Lodge – Dolphin & lily pad - Iquitos
Sunrise at the edge of the river bird watching at the "Padre Isla" town, canoe ride to see the Victoria Regia (lily pad), the largest aquatic flower of the world. Breakfast. Ride on the Amazon River to seek for the gray and pink dolphins. Visit to a small zoo to see some local species of animals such as anacondas, sloths, turtles and others. Walk to the Yanayacu River for canoe ride, Typical lunch and return to Iquitos. Transfer at the hotel or airport.

* To take this tour, you have to arrive to Iquitos in the first flight in the morning and enter directly to the lodge. On the third day you should return on the last flight from Iquitos to Lima.

Trip visiting a private conservation project of Arapaima gigas-Paiche (The largest fresh –water fish in the Amazon River). Short walk around the town to see the everyday life. Return to Cumaceba Lodge. Tour in canoe with paddle special for Photos. Dinner.

DAY 4: Cumaceba Lodge – Lili Pad - Iquitos
Breakfast and canoe ride to see the "Victoria regia" the larget aquatic flower of the world. We visit another lake to fish for piranhas, cat fish, fresh water tropical fish, after which we will return to the Lodge and have a typical lunch self service. Return To Iquitos. Transfer at hotel or airport.

Early morning, excursion for bird watching on shansho Cocha. (Hoatzin Lake) Breakfast. Jungle visit to the Yagua community, observing typical dresses ( grass skirt) their native language and life styles. Blowgun demonstration and the way how they hunt in times gone by, handicrafts commerce or trading. Typical lunch. Amazon journey to visit a family conservation animal shelter with: sloths, monkeys, turtles, anacondas and constrictor boas. Grey and pink river dolphins watching. Night excursion by canoe to hear rainforest typical sounds. Dinner.

DAY 3: Cumaceba Lodge – Monkey Island
Breakfast. Amazon trip to visit a private Monkey Conservation Project with different endangered species like maquisapa, Choro, Huapo Negro y Colorado, musmuki, Tocon, Coto Aullador, Pichicos etc. Return to the Lodge. Dinner.

DAY 4: Cumaceba Lodge – Paiches- Lily Pad
Breakfast. Amazon trip to visit a private Arapaima gigas- Paiche conservation project (The largest fresh- water fish in the Amazon River.biggest of the Amazon River). Caimans and Victoria Regia, lily pads. Return to Cumaceba Lodge. Lunch self service. Tour in canoe with paddle special for Photos. Dinner.

DAY 5: Cumaceba Lodge – Fishing - Iquitos
Breakfast and canoe ride for piranha fishing (and other species such as cat fish and sardines). Visit a small village to know their way of living. After which we will return to Lodge and have a typical lunch.
Return to Iquitos. Transfer at hotel or airport.
