ITINERARY

DAY 01: Lima / Iquitos / Botanical Lodge
Reception at Iquitos airport.
A tour around downtown the city to get to know the most significant landmarks, some of which are from the rubber boom (subject to arrival time).
Transfer to the lodge by boat down the Amazon. Visit the floating thatch roof houses in the district of "Belen", located on the edge of the Itaya river, (From November to July). Continue traveling down the Amazon River until we arrive to Botanical Lodge.
Arrival to the lodge and welcome drink. Accommodation in your private rooms.
Trekking to the areas of medicinal plants to get to know 'una de gato', 'sangre de grado' and 'clavo huasca' plants among others. Lunch and relax.
Trekking to the jungle to visit the community of the Yaguas, we will know their uses, form of life, etc. Return to the lodge. Enjoy spectacular views of the Amazon from a well placed viewpoint and finish the day with a night walk to see tarantulas, insects and alligators. Dinner.

DAY 2: Birdwatching / Recreational Fishing / Night trip
Breakfast. Birdwatching in their natural habitat. Trekking to the deep jungle to find the giant trees – including the voluptuous and impressive Ceiba- Lupuna. Observation of the local flora and fauna. Return to the lodge. Lunch. In the afternoon visit to a small zoo down the river to see the anacondas, monkeys among others. Recreative fishing. Take a night trip in a canoe around the lodge and enjoy the sounds of the forest at night. Dinner.
Overnight in en Botanical Lodge.

DAY 3: Botanical Lodge / Indiana or Anacondas Center / Iquitos
Breakfast. We will visit the district of Indiana. We will take the typical motorcycle taxi transportation to travel through the jungle to Mazan district on the banks of the Rio Napo OR visit the "Neyser" Rescue Center to see the anacondas, monkeys, ancient jungle turtles, sloths and others. We continue the trip to Cumaceba Lodge to have the typical lunch. Return to Iquitos, transfer to the airport.

* To take this tour, you have to arrive to Iquitos in the first flight in the morning and enter directly to the lodge. On the third day you should return on the last flight from Iquitos to Lima.

Fishing. Return to the Lodge. Typical lunch. In the afternoon watching the Amazon River from the balcony, watching the sunset wild depending on weather conditions. Dinner.

DAY 4: Botanical Lodge / Indiana / Iquitos
Breakfast. Navigation down the river to reach the district of Indiana, will take the typical motorcycle taxi transportation to travel through the jungle to Mazan district on the banks of the Napo River. Return and departure bound for Cumaceba Lodge. Typical lunch. Return to Iquitos, transfer to the airport.

DAY 3: Small Town / Night Walk / Camping
Breakfast. Visit to a small town at the edge of the river, to get to see the way of life, the culture of bananas, yuccas, and papayas, among others. Camping at the jungle sleeping in tents. Night walk to get to know some basic knowledge of how to survive in the jungle. Dinner.
Overnight in Campament.

DAY 4: Morning walk / Birdwatching / Yaguas Comunity
Morning walk, bird watching. Breakfast in jungle. Return to the Lodge. Time to relax at the refreshing swimming pool. Typical lunch time indicated.
Afternoon hike through the jungle to reach the native community of the Yaguas, to know their customs, way of life, participation of tourists to the use of the blowpipe or pucuna. Return to the Lodge by boat, recreational fishing on the banks of the river, in the way we look at the Amazon Sunset. Time to rest. Dinner.

Breakfast. We will visit the district of Indiana.
