ITINERARY

DAY 01: Lima / Iquitos / Botanical Lodge
Reception at Iquitos airport.
A tour around downtown the city to get to know the most significant landmarks, some of which are from the rubber boom (subject to arrival time).
Transfer to the lodge by boat down the Amazon. Visit the floating thatch roof houses in the district of "Belen", located on the edge of the Itaya river, (From November to July). Continue traveling down the Amazon River until we arrive to Botanical Lodge.
Arrival to the lodge and welcome drink. Accommodation in your private rooms.
Trekking to the areas of medicinal plants to get to know 'una de gato', 'sangre de grado' and 'clavo huasca' plants among others. Lunch and relax.
Trekking to the jungle to visit the community of the Yaguas, we will know their uses, form of life, etc. Return to the lodge. Enjoy spectacular views of the Amazon from a well placed viewpoint and finish the day with a night walk to see tarantulas, insects and alligators. Dinner.
Overnight in Botanical Lodge.

DAY 2: Botanical Lodge / Birdwatching / Indiana or Anacondas Center / Iquitos
Breakfast. Birdwatching and navigation in a canoe near the lodge.
On our way back to Iquitos, we will visit the district of Indiana. We will take the typical motorcycle taxi transportation to travel through the jungle to Mazan district on the banks of the Rio Napo OR visit the "Neyser" Rescue Center to see the anacondas, monkeys, ancient jungle turtles, sloths and others. We continue the trip to Cumaceba Lodge to have the typical lunch. Return to Iquitos, transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Iquitos.

DAY 3: Iquitos
- Breakfast in the hotel.
At the proper time, transfer to the airport.

* The itineraries can vary. If your flight arrives at Iquitos in the morning you goes straight to the lodge and take the next night in town. If your flight arrives in Iquitos in the afternoon, you take the first night in town and the next in the lodge.

Observation of the local flora and fauna. Return to the lodge. Lunch. In the afternoon visit to a small zoo down the river to see the anacondas, monkeys among others. Recreative fishing. Take a night trip in a canoe around the lodge and enjoy the sounds of the forest at night. Dinner.

Breakfast. Tour down the Amazon River and visit to a "Craft Trapiche", demonstration and participation of tourists in the extraction of sugar cane juice that people used to make products such as sugar cane rum and molasses. Fishing. Return to the Lodge. Typical lunch. In the afternoon watching the Amazon River from the balcony, watching the sunset wild depending on weather conditions. Dinner.

DAY 4: Botanical Lodge / Indiana / Iquitos
Breakfast. Navigation down the river to reach the district of Indiana, will take the typical motorcycle taxi transportation to travel through the jungle to Mazan district on the banks of the Napo River. Return and departure bound for Cumaceba Lodge. Typical lunch. Return to Iquitos, transfer to the hotel.

DAY 5: Iquitos
